Thank you, House of Jasmine for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
As a foodie, I have always wanted to do a cooking class and as weird as this will sound I never did! Until our trip to Argentina 😊
And even better, we got to do a Empanadas cooking class – one of the Argentinian Specialities.
House of Jasmine is a beautiful property located about 20 minutes from Salta and very easily accessible. The environment surrounding the house is pure heaven. Once you enter the property you are submerged by a sense of tranquility and a romantic atmosphere.
The main building is a 100-year old mansion with a delicate interior décor, the rooms and suites are divided into different elegant houses within the property. On-site, enjoy many activities offered by House of Jasmine or simply relax by the pool facing the beautiful Andes.
Our Empanadas Cooking Class was hosted by Chef Andres Gutierrez and took place in the restaurant. At our arrival, everything was set up and we could get ready to learn!
Chef Gutierrez explained in Spanish the complete recipe of the empanadas, and we started preparing the dough. He showed us then how to properly knead the dough gently. Once the dough was ready & cut in rounds we went to the kitchen to prepare the filling.
Like a magician, Chef Gutierrez uses fresh products from the estancia or the region and made the tastiest filling ever!
Then the fun begun went we had to make the Empanadas, by filling the dough rounds with the Chef Preparation. His Empanadas were perfectly looking while ours were… Well, like 2 people who were just started! 🙂
The best part of our Empanadas Cooking Class? At the end, we enjoyed the empanadas we made for dinner, in one of the most romantic settings.
We had a wonderful time at House of Jasmine for our Empanadas Cooking Class, everyone there was very nice and attentive. If you are a foodie too, or simply want to learn more about the Argentinian delicacies then I highly recommend you to check out House of Jasmine for your upcoming trip to Salta!
